ACM - SAN Scenario

Hello,

I want to create a satellite scenario using the ACM software to simulate a 5G NTN link between a user and a LEO satellite.

A have had a look at the manual but there are various points which are unclear. The software shows me to following settings, which I have set as follows:

What is not clear to me is how the satellite movement is emulated. The figure in the software shows this picture.

How does the satellite speed relate to the movement and doppler speed in this figure? I understand that the satellite is somehow moving up and down. I suspect that the max doppler is reacher in the middle of the vertical path i.e. 1266km according to my settings.

  • How is the doppler shift modelled at the min/max range?
  • Is the satellite speed constant along its path? Is the satellite speed the vertical speed on the line or does it have a different meaning?
  • Why does the satellite speed not have any impact on the fading file duration (732.93 seconds)
  • Where does the emulation start and where does it stop?

I would appreciate if you could help me out.

Christoph
