Spirent iTest: Is it possible to retrieve a testcase from a test report?

I ran a testcase overnight and found that the next day, it was no longer present in my project directory/workspace. Since it was an still under work, there is no backup and no draft either. It was not present anywhere in the file system (tried using file search). (No idea where it went)

I tried using "Redo" from the Edit menu. I was able to get the file, but it was a version previous to the one I had executed overnight. Hence, the required changes were not present.

The test report shows that the test was "Aborted". And if I click on "Open test case", I get a warning that the file is not found.

Is there any method by which I can retrieve the testcase from the passed/complete test report? i

Actually, I found a method to retrieve deleted files from my Local History. (Since iTest is based on Eclipse, I was able to relate and google this solution. I should have thought of that earlier, but at least now it can be resolved in context of iTest).
In order to retrieve a previous/deleted version of a file from the Workspace, you can right-click the project and select "Restore from Local History".

This will show a pop-up with the files you need to change/recover along with the time-stamp of the version available.

You can also increase the number of days for which to retain the local history in Windows --> Preferences --> General --> Workspace --> Local History.

Please see the below possibilities to recover the test case.

  • If anyone deleted test case from iTest workspace (from file system ForEx: D:\iTest_project\testing\test_cases) not from iTest GUI, we can recover it from Recycle Bin.
  • Even if we deleted testcase from recycle bin also using the "iCareDataRecoveryPro software" we can recover.
  • If we already committed test case savings to SVN server, we can import TC into itest workspace from SVN server.
  • If test case deleted from iTest GUI workspace itself, I don't think so we can recover TC from somewhere.
  • Orelse we have to re-create the testcase by referring the existing testreport.

Thank you for listing down the possibilities.. It would appear that my file is no longer retrievable. I'll just have to re-create it using the Test Report.

Thanks again!
