Hi, I am using Spirent GSS9000 and SimGEN sofware. I wanted to know what is X, Y and Z axis of body frame defined in SimGEN.

Vehicle body axes are defined from the vehicle’s Centre of Gravity (CofG). For aircraft the definition of body axis is given below, the definitions for other vehicle types are similar:

  • x - Pointing towards the nose (the nominal direction of travel)
  • y - (Orthogonal to x ), pointing towards the starboard side (right wing)
  • z - Nominally down
