Velocity : Driver for STC auto discovery not working
Hello,
While browsing the KB i have seen a post (SOL12012) about auto discovery for stc resources.
After trying to set it up, velocity gives me the following error when discovering :
"Failed to get properties for the STC-NG resource: Error attempting to open connection to server: Unable to connect to X.X.X.X "
the ip being the M2M ip of the machine stc gui is installed on. For information, I can manually connect the velocity VM to the STC app machine via telnet. It mught be that only ssh is working but the author of the article mentioned earlier said "telnet/ssh"

We received below suggestions from our development team on this issue.
- Our developers provide us the short instructions for how to use this driver, maybe it will be helpfull for you:
- You need a Windows machine with ssh server, and installed STC Application, tcl must be installed to C:\Tcl
- Use driver attached TestCenterDiscover1.0.1.zip for STC device (I removed hardcoded assert for STC IP and hardcoded parameters from test case)
Fill following properties for STC device:
iPAddress - IP of STC management port
TestCenterSetup - IP of windows machine from first step
TestCenterSetupUser - user to login throw ssh to windows machine
TestCenterSetupPwd - password to login throw ssh to windows machine
TestCenterInstallPath - path to STC Application on windows machine, something like C:/Program Files/Spirent Communications/Spirent TestCenter x.xx/Spirent TestCenter Application
After that you can try to "Discover" properties and ports for STC device. If some errors appear please provide us the diagnostic bundle to this issue.testcenterdiscover101.zip

I have similiar issue. followed same KB document and got this error message:
Failed to get properties for theSTCresource: Invalid query: No Such Function group1
I guess the driver needs to be updated (still v1.0)
