I have a testcase that opens a rest session and makes a request. In some instances, the rest step keeps going, but never times out, even after a few hours. This seems like a bug to me. None of the step or session profile timing properties have been changed from the default.
Even after setting the step timeout to 10 seconds and expected duration to 1 sec, the step never times out.
A wireshark trace revealed that the device was sending a constant stream of TCP keepalives to iTest, so from iTest's perspective, there was no timeout event occurring.
