Welcome to the Improved Spirent Forums-- Learn what's new!

The Spirent Forums are the place to interact with the wider Spirent Community, with thousands of users and visits each day. We've taken steps to streamline the Forums and clean up the interface, making it easier to get to the things you use the most while keeping less used items out of the way. We've also made some usability improvements. We hope you like the changes, and invite you to learn more about what we've changed.

What's new? There are dozens of changes, but the major ones:

  • Clutter has been minimized, allowing the important things, your questions and answers to gain more prominence
  • The question and answer editors have been changed from Markdown syntax to a friendlier WYSIWYG style
  • All Spirent employees that post onto the Forums are now identified with a "Staff" badge next to the user name
  • The Spirent Forums are now mobile-responsive, meaning the site changes to a mobile-friendly interface when you visit using your smartphone
  • Detailed popups appear if you hover your mouse pointer over tags and user names (try it now by hovering over the tag Spirent Forums or the name philip.joung above)
  • As you're typing your question or answer, the content is auto-saved as a draft in case of failures
  • You can now easily see who is following a question
  • "Tags" have been renamed to "Topics"
  • Karma points have been renamed to Reputation Points
  • If you like a question or answer, you can award some (or all!) of your reputation points to that user
