Looks like an enhancement (CR: 312836535) was opened back in 3.70 but it was deferred and CR closed. I do not see a completed ER form in that CR so maybe a new CR with the proper business case (completed ER form) would help push it forward. An alternative is you could create your own custom PDU template. Examples PDU and Template files attached. alt text

Hi all,

I tried to put a new PDU to Spirent TestCenter (Windows 7) followed exactly step-by-step your instruction, but I still have the problem "Invalid input parameters: Errors in parsing XML frame cofiguration.." (Although I quit the software without save current configuration and reopen again)

Could you please give me some notices? Did I miss something important?

Thanks and best regards,

Anh

Sounds like something is wrong with your XML file. Not sure if you already opened a Service Request with support@spirent.com if you still haven't got it to work.

Thanks Mike, the same is working fine. Will the same work when using Linux and Arts framework? Where we are installing VM on ARTS and using the Script we are running the same. Is there any document or information on how to install the same in Linux/Arts framework? \Ruban

I see the PDU and Template directories in the Linux setup so should be able to copy the same files there. As for downloading the definition to the port, its not possible with the API, so once you have it working with the GUI, you can save to script and pull out that streamblock for your script.

Not sure if you are familiar with loading custom PDUs to the ports. After copying those files, and while creating a raw streamblock there is a selection for Manage Frame Templates. Click on that and select Download PDU Definition to Port. Select the VRRP.def and click OK. Continue to click OK on the other windows, then you must disconnect from the ports to allow it to boot. After reconnecting, you can then use the new VRRP header. If the files I sent need any modificaion, you can certainly use any text editor to modify it as you wish. I have a document attached to help what I just mentioned.[link text][1] [1]: /storage/temp/4607-steps+to+install+and+use+a+user-defined+pdu+template.pdf

Hi Ruban, The only way I see is to use a custom header. We need to copy the hex of the VRRP header from an existing pcap and then paste it into the custom header. Regards, Bhargav
