Cannot enter New Property "ipAddress" into tbml

This has been a nagging minor issue for some time. When trying to enter a new property into a device, the *iTest* topology editor will not let me enter **ipAddress** as a property name. Each time I try, it overrides with **ipAddressV4**. Is this a bug or an overt way of encouraging us to create V4 and V6 properties? I don't mind using "ipAddressV4" going forward, but we have legacy test cases and topologies that must be maintained. The only way I have found to work-around this, is to edit in text mode and rename the property.

I am able to add it in iTest 4.3.1 If you enter the vendor string first, it allows me to make the name whatever I want. Without the vendor string, it forces me to choose from the predefined names. ![enter the vendor string first][1] ![the property is added][2] [1]: /storage/temp/4463-ipaddr.png [2]: /storage/temp/4464-ipaddr2.png

Thanks APavuluri, You can indeed create a property named "ip_address". My point is that you cannot create a property named "ipAddress". Each time you try, the editor overrides your entry with "ipAddressV4".

We can add a new property to the device by the following steps: 1) Click on the device-> Properties-> Device-> Add property 2) Now add the property name manually (eg: ip_address) and fill the value and vendor fields Below is the screenshot for reference. ![alt text][1] [1]: /storage/temp/4455-property.png

Looks to me like *iTest* is trying to force the use of certain property names? ![alt text][1] [1]: /storage/temp/4452-ipaddressv4.png
