MAC issues on devicecount scenario

This is a strange MAC issue I am seeing in STC which is breaking the native aspect also. Is STC handle MAC properly ?? Scenario: Initial I created 2 devices of network_per_block of count as 3, MAC step is 1 So for 1st devices mac are 00:00:00:00:00:06,07,08 for 2nd device 00:10:94:00:00:09,0a,0b So now I want to increment the device count say 2 but in STC I am NOT seeing any changes on MAC Now for 1st device mac are 00:00:00:00:00:06,07,08,09,0a for 2nd device mac are 00:10:94:00:00:09,0a,0b,0c,0d So there is a mac conflict. Is there anyway to overcome this ?? Attached a dummy conifg file for the reference. ![alt text][1] [1]: /storage/temp/4344-mac_issue.jpg

I did not see a config attached. I also do not see a conflict since one mac starts with 00:00:00 and the other starts with 00:10:94. Besides, when I incremented by 2, my mac did change 01,03,05 etc. For each device block make sure you keep them apart from each other so conflicts do not occur when having more than one device in the block.

Spirent forum is NOT allowing to attach the .tcc file as large in size. The mac showing in the screenshot is wrong . But as I described if you create a config on your set up , you can see the problem easily. You will have conflicting MAC.

Thanks for the clarification Uday! I believe we need to manually take care of it while creating the second device, since we are changing the device count after getting the device created from the wizard. The reason behind this would be that, when you add second device it would check in the wizard history, the last MAC address it has added based on which it would offer the next mac address. But, changing the device count in the device section would not update the wizard history. Hope it help! Thanks!

Thanks Yaseen. But in my case my devices are are created only on the one STC port. because other port is attached to another interface of device. I cant change the device config interface. It is gonna break the topology itself. So device count is making wrong source mac or mac conflicts :( This option should not be useful ever after device got created.

Hello Uday, When we create devices using the wizard the modifiers get applied to it. But when we manually change the device count, the modifier would not have any effect to it. In other words, under the all devices section, any modification would not cause the modifier to execute. But, via the wizard this modifier code gets executed. In order to change the MAC address with respect to port please enable to step per port option while creating the devices. This would prevent the conflicts. ![alt text][1] [1]: /storage/temp/4345-test.jpg
