streamblock group at one rate and streamblocks in that group subdivide that rate?
One of my customer is looking for a way to have a streamblock group set at 25% of port rate. Then within that group, have a streamblock at 50% and another at 50%. So streamblock1 would essentially be 12.5% and streamblock2 will be 12.5%. The example is for simple demonstration of problem only. Obviously with that setup, I would not need a grouping rate and individual rate, I would just go with individual rates. The goal is so I only have to change the grouping rate and all the individual rates will automatically follow. So if I have a group of 100, changing 100 individual streamblocks would be a pain vs just changing the one rate for the entire group. As far as I know it's not possible, just want to confirm if there is any work around or any suggestion that can be tried to achieve the above requirement. Thanks in Advance
Or we can use the rate based scheduler with a streamblock having multiples streams, and apply "List" load so that we can have unequal distribution between the streams. But I can't figure out an easy way to update the load on the go..
Not sure what is meant by grouping rate and individual rate. Is this Port based, rate based, and priority based? I would say if a streamblock has more than one stream, the load will be divided equally between all of its streams. You can easily test your expected behavior with a single port in diagnostic loopback.
If you are able to create the desired traffic into a single streamblock then the streamblock will automatically distribute equal percentage amount all the streams within that streamblock.
