Need to change the theoretical throughput from 1 gig to 318 Mbps

Hello All, Customer want to change the "theoretical throughput" from 1 gig to 318 Mbps. As per customer the theoretical throughput is based on the port in which he connects to on the Spirent. he is currently connecting to a 1 gig copper port. However, in his test loop the slowest piece in the path is 318 Mbps, so he wants to make that his theoretical max so that the frame loss percentage will be based off of that value instead. Is it possible to change the theoretical throughput?

You cannot change the theoretical throughput of a Test Port, but you can enter a rate upper limit in the RFC 2544 or Custom Wizards. Or better yet you can let the test return to you what the max tput of the SUT is (i.e., is it really 318 Mbps?). Be careful though, when you say "the slowest piece in the path is 318 Mbps," is that qualified at Layer 1, 2, or 3? I'm not asking for an answer here, just making sure you are taking that into consideration.
