How to capture only layer2 frames in STC ?
I would like to capture all layer2 frames on STC. When I am trying to add any pattern with template , it is asking for value. But I would like to capture all layer2 frames irrespective of values. Please suggest how to do this.
Any frames with L3 or higher headers will have a corresponding Ethertype set in Ethernet header (Different or every upper header). So you may try filtering out based on Ethrtype field. Do a capture for all frames and see what value is being set for your L2 frames. (Usually 0x88B5 if no upper headers are there) Not that we need to select Capture source as "RX mode" while applying a filter on capture. Thanks, Sreerag

When you do a capture on STC port, by default it captures all the frames (TX/RX Control plane and RX Data plane). **So you don't need to have a particular pattern defined to capture any L2 frames**. But if you need to capture **only specific L2 frames, we need to define the filer accordingly**. Thanks, Sreerag
