Thank mallikarjunarao and mabass of looking at my problem. The way I call it through variable is working, but my fat finger has a typo in the rcommunity. Thank you everyone.

Check are able to start snmp session without errors, I think due to this you are getting SNMP timeout. Even though it was standard RFC MIB sysContact we need specify MIBs directory in SNMP session. Other we can't use snmpget. Thanks http://tclscripting.blogspot.in/

I checked the attached testcase, it seems you are using Variable substitution for IP address and Read Community. Could you please make sure that these Variables are accessible from this testcase.

Loading your proprietary MIB files into Spirent iTest iTest will default MIBs directory located under resources/SNMP directory. You just copy your MIBS into default directory/ we could use another directory for your proprietary MIBs. Note: You must copy the individual files because subdirectories under the Mibs directory are not supported. Please use iTest help search using keyword snmp trap view, for more information. Thank you for your quick reply. Well, a little confused. The query was 1.3.6.1.2.1.1.4 which is standard MIB2 OID with a trailing '0'. What if I don't have the proprietary MIB files? I didn't load any proprietary MIB into Linux, the standard Linux netsnmp just works. I checked the resources and standard SNMP MIB2 is there. So, that won't work? Thanks, Maggie
