Best Practices for installing FlexNet for iTest usage?

Does Spirent have any recommendations for installing the FlexNet License Server that Spirent provides on the iTest download page? I've gotten the license server to work, but I'm concerned I may have created challenges for myself in the future trying to manage the installation. I have installed on Windows, but I could install on Linux instead.

The current download from the CSC for "iTest License Server for Windows" (v4.2, posted 6/18/2012) does not include the "lmtools.exe" program. Is the KB article out of date?

As lmtools is a third party tool, we can download it separately using the below link: http://www.globes.com/support/fnp_utilities_download.htm
