Is there a way to start itest.exe in runtime license mode? Command-line option?

Anybody know why one machine will have these settings under Program Files and another under Users? I just installed 4.31 ans told it to install for "All users". It still points to the Users .eclipse folder.

The information regarding these settings is available in the iTest installation guide at Page 26. Here I am not able to past the complete content.

It would be helpful to understand what one is trying to achieve. itestrt provides a command line way of running iTest test cases. Licensing has changed slightly from older versions of iTest to newer versions, so something that worked in an older version may not be valid today.

At present we do not have command line option to choose the mode of license. As we know, we can choose the license mode once the GUI is launched. Or, edit the licensing settings file(**com.fnfr.itest.platform.configuration.prefs**) based on our requirement before starting iTest. The "com.fnfr.itest.platform.configuration.prefs" file can be located at following locations: C:\\Program Files\\Spirent Communications\\iTest 4.3\\configuration\\.settings or C:\\Users\\username\\.eclipse\\org.eclipse.platform_3.6.1_493608854\\configuration\\.settings ![alt text][1] ![alt text][2] [1]: /storage/temp/3813-enterprise.jpg [2]: /storage/temp/3814-runtime.jpg

Thanks for the info. At least I know where the setting are now. I thought I would be able to write a simple script to change the setting. Unfortunately, the machines that use "C:\\Users\\username\\.eclipse\\org.eclipse.platform_xxx\\configuration\\.settings" make it difficult to maintain because the path will change with each new version. I am guessing that the machines that have this path are that way because iTest was installed for "this user only"? And that the "C:\\Program Files\\Spirent Communications\\iTest x.x\\configuration\\.settings" path was from an install for "all users"? I prefer the later because I can always check the environment variable ITEST_HOME.

Can you make a shortcut in C:\Users\\.eclipse\ToSettings that is a shortcut to the .settings file for the newest platform? And / or can you set an Environment Variable for ECLIPSE_PLATFORM that is "C:\users\\.eclipse\org.eclipse.platform_"? Of course, you will have to maintain those whenever the version changes. To change an Environment Variable in Windows, you might find the easiest way to do it is to use powershell.
