WireShark session stopped working for interface designation with upgrade to newer version.

Using the same session profile as before the upgrade from Wireshark 1.2.6 to 1.8.4, I now get the message "No interface matching '2' found". However when I query the interfaces from the command window, I get- 1. \Device\NPF_{7ED10E12-0C83-4EE7-8D80-3CE70C8698C9} (Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit thernet Driver) 2. \Device\NPF_{39908200-E9E2-4A18-932F-09DF89D8B898} (Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC So, clearly an interface #2 exists. Also, when I start Wireshark from the command window with the "-i 2" in the command, I get the correct interface. I get the same error message regardless of what interface number I put in the field. When I leave it blank, I get the default interface, which is not the one I want. Thanks.

The un-installing of Wireshark 1.8.4 and then re-installing it during the upgrade from iTest 4.2.0 to 4.2.2 solved this problem. Thanks.

Please try with the below step: While uninstalling the Wireshark, under choose components Wizard, select "personal settings" to delete complete settings. ![alt text][1] [1]: /storage/temp/3453-wireshark.png Once you reinstall the iTest, please check "show interfaces" command output in wireshark session. It should display all the interfaces which are available.

What is the exact version of your iTest. iTest 4.2.2 supports Wireshark version 1.8.4, if you are on 4.2.2 it may be a permission issue. It would be good if you uninstall the older versions of iTest and Wireshark before installing iTest 4.2.2. While installing iTest 4.2.2, it will prompt you to install the Wireshark version 1.8.4. 1. iTest version is 4.2 2. I can't find where the Session Profiles are being saved. 3. There can't be a pcap file if I can't start one.
