Programatically choosing external browser?

Is there a way, programatically (via Test Case steps/actions) to choose the external browser to use, dynamically during runtime?

Or is the setting in the preference setting the one and only (static) way to do it?

Also - how do I make the external browser to be used?  It seems, no matter what I try, it is using the internal (IE engine?) browser.

Thanks.

Hi,

As per my knowledge in iTest, we cannot choose external browser programically.

By default, iTest uses Internal browser (Firefox) and the only external browser we can use is IE (Internet explorer) for capture/replay.

To use IE, we need to change the browser settings in Web/Swing session profile properties as shown in below screenshot

The preferences in "Window->Prefernces->General->Web browser" are common eclipse preferences which will not work for capture/reply using iTest web/swing sessions and only works to open any web pages using the specified browsers.

Hope it helps you!

Thanks,
