Avalanche session: How to specify server cluster units when configuration does not have any

Posting this on behalf of my customer.

She has an Avalanche configuration which only contains clients. No servers. She is using an appliance. So when she configures the Avalanche session in iTest, she puts 0 for the client cluster unit. She needs to put something for the server client units as it is a required field. We tried using 0 for this also, but when we start the test we get an error something to the effect that "... server cluster 0 is invalid ...". By they way, this appliance has 8 ports (0-7) and she is only using port 0.

I will get the specific error message.

I am wondering what to put in that field in this case. Any ideas?

Can you check the port provision list  in the test.tcl file generated by avalanche?

Hi Adeel,

For this scenario, i would suggest to use "Use Avalanche Tcl test files" feature available in iTest Spirent Avalnche session profile.

Point the "Tcl test folder" to the path in which user has "config.tcl and "test.tcl" files generated from spirent avalanche application.

Please let us know if this works for the user as a workaround?

We will also look into this issue to see if we can allow user to start tests without specifing the server units in the session profile?

Thanks,

Vidya
