automate windows applications

Hii..

Can we also automate windows applications using fanfare ( for eg. calculator) ?. If yes, how can we do so?

We are, indeed, looking at adding support for native Windows desktop automation in iTest.  In the meantime, however, you might want to take a look at AutoIt.  This is a free lightweight scripting tool for automating simple functions on the Windows desktop.  You can drive AutoIt scripts (or most any other kind of similar tool's scripts) from iTest to perform certain actions.  To run the script, you would use a Process session in iTest and start (or run) the appropriate command line.

The answer is no. Open a session profiles wherein 'Session Type' is mentioned, and whatever types given out there are supported in iTest automation.

I know an open source tool for this. I am afraid I can give the tool name in this forum.
