iTest launching error..

Installed iTest 3.3.1 in Solaris 10. While invoking the application, I have got 'Checking out licenses..' window keeps on going. iTest GUI never comes up.

I made sure that license server is up and running, in fact another Solaris machine opens iTest successfully.

Let me know if you need any iTest log to nail this..

Thanks.

Can you check to see if you can ping the license server machine from your Solaris machine? Test the ping using both the IP address as well as the domain name.

I am surprised the dialog does not time out - how long did you let the dialog remain up before killing it? Also, are there any network configuration differences between this Solaris machine and the Solaris machine where it is working?

I have spotted the issue. I have two license servers added in license settings. One is backup for the other.

In today's case, backup server is not reachable. Hence, iTest takes very very long time(5-6 hrs) to launch. It's a bug...

I had to wait for 5-6 hrs to delete the backup server entry in license settings before made it working!

It should definitely not take 5 to 6 hours; this seems like a bug, and we will investigate.

The license server settings are actually stored in a preference file on your local system, and when you make a change in iTest, they get written/saved to this file. You can manually edit the file the next time you run into the same issue, so you don't have to wait 5 hours. The file is located at [user_home]/.iTestConfiguration_3.4/.settings/com.fnfr.svt.licensing.prefs.
