HOWTO: Console install

By default iTest installer uses GUI mode. However, in some circumstances users may need to run the installer in non-GUI mode. For instance, in rare cases the system can't display the installer dialog correctly or the screen resolution gets messed up. Another common case is when a user connects to a Unix server through terminal, the display on console is not available.

Installer can be launched in console mode that uses standard input and output. One big advantage on Unix environment is that X-window (X11) is not needed to run the installer. Note that although a user can specifiy some options for installation (e.g. install location), not all options provided in GUI dialog are available.

To launch the installer in console mode, run the installer with console option on command line:

installername -i console

iTestinstallation - licensing
